sickness all around

I think it started Wednesday when we visited a church here in Louisville. I took Lydia to the nursery (and stayed in there with her), where there were around 8 kids (1-2 year olds). Several of these kids had bad runny noses and coughs. I sanitized my hands several times, as well as Lydia's. I tried to guard her again putting anything in her mouth, but she's 13 months... oral stage.
So yesterday evening she had a little bit of a runny nose. She went to bed around 8pm, then was screaming out at 10pm... she yelled every 20 minutes until 1am. I gave her Benadryl and Motrin at midnight, but it didn't do much good. She just couldn't breathe! Around 4am I gave her some nose drops. It was a terrible night for all of us, especially her.
I have a scratchy throat and feel a bit lousy myself, but Lydia is just pitiful. Since we got up, she's been clingy and in my lap mostly. She's sneezed 3 or 4 times, sending COPIOUS amounts of thick snot everywhere! Man, I hate snot. It only makes me feel sick if it's someone else's... mine and Lydia's doesn't bother me. But I can't let her nose remain snotty for a second. In the last hour I've wiped her nose ten times and suctioned three times. Now her little nose it turning red.
:(
Anyway, I pray my baby is better by Monday.

Conversion to Wordpress

Sometime back we started a "family blog" at wordpress...
melton.wordpress.com
but since starting the blog, we really haven't done much with it. I always blog on here (when I have time) and Frankie never has time to blog anywhere. Well, he could have time, I think he just hasn't gotten into the blogging thing. He reads plenty of blogs, but that's about it.
Anyway, I thought I'd attempt to switch to wordpress once more, since they have more features and all that.

5th of December...

I haven't had a chance to blog lately because we were in SC to visit family. We actually stayed a lot longer than we originally planned. We had planned to come back to Louisville for Thanksgiving, but Lydia was sick and we didn't really want to travel with a sick baby. Instead we just stayed through Thanksgiving week. The following weekend we intended to come home, but then Frankie was sick and hadn't been sleeping well. He really didn't want to drive 11 hours with Lydia when he felt so lousy, so we stayed a few more days! Needless to say, it was a long month in SC and I'm glad to be back in KY!
Lydia is now almost 13 months old! She is so fun and each day is more fun than the last with her. Yesterday we had her pictures taken... a combo of Christmas pics and one year pics. She did fantastic. Each pic was gorgeous, so we really spent a fortune on pictures. It could not be helped though.
Frankie has been talking to a couple of churches...one in SC and one in NC. They both have expressed interest, but he is leaning toward staying here for awhile longer...to work on his dissertation and all that.
